The regular Pro-Mist (aka White Pro-Mist) is a popular motion picture effect. Creates special "atmosphere" by softening excess sharpness and contrast; creates pearlescent glow around highlights. Great for portraits and landscapes.

When used with digital video cameras, the lighter strengths like 1/8 through 1/2 help reduce the sharpness normally associated with video and yields a 'film look' to the image. These filters are our best selling 'film-look' filters. Note- when shooting scenics and you are looking for that film-look, try the 1/8. Stronger strengths may yield a muddy look.

The Black Pro-Mist Filters offers all the benefits of the Pro-Mist filter in a more subtle form.  Highlight flares are controlled.  Contrast is lowered, but with less lightening of shadows for a more delicate effect.  Tones down excessive sharpness to create the "film look".  The filters are used to diffuse hard edges, reduce wrinkles in skin, and soften pastoral settings, rendering a mist look while minimizing light flare. Available in strengths of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, and 3.
