What Is Battle Tested?
The battle tested program offers a large discount on RED cameras that have been refurbished. All of these cameras have hours on them, but still deliver the same incredible performance.
The RED DIGITAL CINEMA DSMC2 BRAIN with MONSTRO 8K VV Sensor is designed to be built how you want it, so you are able to tell your story in almost every way possible. The RED DIGITAL CINEMA DSMC2 BRAIN bundles together high performance raw video recording within a small, compact camera body. Because you have a standard DSMC2 form factor, you can easily attach any accessories either from RED or any other manufacturer to your camera. The MONSTRO 8K full-frame sensor boasts up to 17 stops of dynamic range and can record the full image circle of full-frame 35mm lenses. You can also use Super 35mm lenses with a windowed capture area for high-frame rate recording. Sitting in front of the full-frame sensor is an interchangeable PL mount. This way you can use industry-standard cinema lenses right out of the box, or exchange the mount to use alternative photo and video lenses.
Practically speaking, it can operate in both normal and dimly-lit scenarios without prematurely blown highlights or excessive noise, respectively. Nearly limitless lens options are available for the DSMC2 system. While this camera requires a separately available lens mount, DSMC lens mounts themselves are offered in different varieties for compatibility with a wide array of lens systems.
