The OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dock 12TB Thunderbolt 3 Dock and Dual-Drive RAID Solution allows you to boost the storage capacity of your computer. Equipped with a pair of 6TB hard drives, this OWC Thunder 3 RAID Station comes with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, ideal for connecting to your computers as well as daisy chaining up to five Thunderbolt 3 devices. The storage system also features two USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, a DisplayPort, and an SD card reader. With its hardware RAID controller, this OWC Thunder 3 RAID Station supports RAID modes 0 and 1, as well as SPAN and JBOD modes. The cooling fan boasts a power switch that allows for silent operation.

Hardware RAID Controller
With the built-in hardware RAID controller, you can mirror the drives with RAID 1 as a reliable backup for your important data, you can stripe the drives with RAID 0 for optimal performance and maximum speed, or you can select SPAN to combine the drives for extra-large storage capacities.
OS Independent RAID Set
An advantage of the built-in hardware RAID controller is that the RAID set is OS-independent, meaning the storage drive can be moved from one system to another with ease. Because the RAID set is managed inside the Thunder3 RAID Station, no additional setup is required on your computer.
2-Lane PCIe to SATA Controller
The PCIe-to-SATA controller makes use of two PCIe lanes. When using a non-RAID configuration, this allows for a single SSD to run at full SATA 6Gb/s speeds and deliver read transfer rates over 500 MB/s.
Power Delivery
The Thunder3 RAID Station supports USB Power Delivery (PD), providing 27W of power to laptops that support charging from a 9V/3A power source, such as the late-2016 MacBook Pro. This allows you to recharge your laptop's battery even when it is not plugged into any other power source.
Tool-Less Drive Installation
For added convenience and flexibility, the Thunder3 RAID Station can accommodate both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA drives. The assembly is completely tool-less so drives can be easily installed or uninstalled.
LED Indicators
The LED lights on the front indicate the device's power status and disk activity while the LED lights on the back show the network speed and status when an Ethernet cable is connected.
Cooling Fan
The Thunder3 RAID Station's cooling fan boasts a power switch for silent operation.
